Sahara Desert – 3 Day M’Hamid Trip

If you want to really see the Sahara Desert, this is the tour for you!

Day 1 –

We collect you at around 7am from your accommodation and we set off over the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, stopping for photos and breakfast on the way.  We continue and stop at the old hill fort town of Ait Ben Haddou (setting for the Hollywood blockbuster Gladiator) for an explore and some lunch.  After this, we continue to the small town of Zagora and relax at a basic hotel for the evening.  This is a great opportunity for a dip in the pool and a drink at the bar before dinner and bed.

Day 2 –

A relaxed start and breakfast at the hotel followed by the short drive to the end of the road at M’Hamid.  Here you can stock up on water and snacks before we test the 4×4’s (SUV’s if you’re from the other side of the Atlantic) with the 2 hour drive to the massive dunes at Erg Chigaga.  On the way, we’ll stop for lunch at an oasis and maybe even take a dip in the water there before continuing through the sand to the desert camp.  Have an explore and get some great shots of the sunset.  In the evening, your hosts will pull out the drums and entertain you with traditional Saharawi music around the campfire.

Day 3 –

An early start and breakfast at the desert camp followed by the long drive back to Marrakech, stopping on the way for lunch in Ouarzazate.  You should make it back to the city for around 6pm.

This tour is £200 per person and this includes all transport from Marrakech, all food from lunch on day 1 until lunch on day 3, hotel accommodation on day 1, desert camp on day 2 and an English speaking guide.
